Catalog description

This course presents advanced concepts in neuroscience, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and the clinical management of psychiatric symptoms related to the psychopharmacologic treatment of various psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. The content reflects current scientific knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurochemistry, psychopharmacology and its application to clinical problems seen in a variety of settings. Attention is given to genetic, physiological, and environmental factors that impact individuals across the lifespan. Somatic interventions including complementary and other emerging treatments are also discussed.
