Catalog description

This course will address basic techniques for expressing music and dramatic text through acting. The methods of body movement, character research, theatre games and audition techniques will also be covered. The elements of body movement and specific dance forms used in Opera and Musical Theatre and the incorporation of acting techniques for both historical and contemporary productions will be presented in this course. Graduate students may take this course in order to learn new acting exercises, reinvest in character work, and to brush up on audition techniques. Instructor approval required.
