Trumpet Ensemble

Catalog description

The Trumpet Ensemble course is designed to engage trumpet students in a chamber music setting and to challenge them to improve their individual and small group musicianship. It will also address the musical and technical challenges native to chamber music (intonation, breathing, balance, etc.). Students will be exposed to trumpet ensemble repertoire covering music from all periods applicable to the instrument. The ensemble will perform on brass chamber recitals and other campus events, and potentially perform each year at the International Trumpet Guild Conference. Members of the ensemble may also compete each year at the National Trumpet Competition. Prerequisite: audition.
