Catalog description

This is the field experience course in the program leading to recommendation for the Superintendent?s Letter of Eligibility. In addition to culminating practicum assurances, this course focuses on the unique chief school officer field work related to the Pennsylvania Inspired Leader and NELP Standards. This course begins the one year of professionally imbedded practicum required for the Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. All candidates must be mentored by a current Superintendent who has been in the role five or more years. After one year, a portfolio of artifacts will be submitted and will address the 8 NELP Standards cross walked to the, 10 PSEL Standards, and the 3 Core and 6 Corollary PIL Standards. Educational Leadership doctoral candidates may enroll in this course during the second of third year of doctoral work. This course is the pre-requisite to Commission Competencies course which is offered in the Spring semester.
