Methods of Teaching Social Studies in Grades PreK-4 Field Experience

GEPK 541 is a 1 credit field experiences that is taken concurrently with GEPK 540 Methods of Social Studies. Candidates will be assigned to a classroom for 15 hours to apply instructional practices in whole group and/or small group instruction. The focus is on instructional planning, instructional practice, and formative assessment in social studies education. Candidates complete field assignments and will be supervised and evaluated by the course content faculty and the host school teacher.
