Catalog description

This course provides the student with an overview of the diagnostic criteria of deviant behavior based on the DSM IV-TR. Emphasis is placed on the manifestations of deviant behavior in counseling practice; case conceptualization and differential diagnosis; the use of the DSM IV in diagnosis and treatment planning; and the role of psychotropic medication in the management of mental illness.
