Catalog description

This laboratory and lecture course will familiarize students with DNA methods and population genetics as well as concepts, techniques, and methods that are essential in forensic DNA laboratories. Topics will include DNA data interpretation procedures and concepts like stochastic variation, artifacts, comparison, report writing, statistics/population genetics, and CODIS. Students will examine and process mock evidence as a forensic DNA analyst would and prepare lab reports.
