Catalog description

Topics will cover techniques and methods of forensic DNA analysis, statistical interpretation of results, report writing, and quality control issues. Additionally, familial DNA analysis, paternity testing, mass disaster identification, and probabilistic genotyping for mixture interpretation will be examined. Students will analyze mock forensic casework data utilizing current guidelines and analysis software. Prerequisite: FORE courses, levels 100 through 400 and B or better in BIOL 530W.
