Catalog description
This course provides students with a thorough understanding of the operation of the financial system and the role of financial markets and financial institutions in the process of flow of funds. Topics to be covered include the determinants and structure of interest rates, the Federal Reserve System and the effects of monetary policies, interest rates and security valuation, the structure of financial markets and financial institutions and their role in the economy, risk management in financial institutions. Prerequisite: FINC 530
