This course analyzes the planning process to most efficiently achieve an individual?s objectives in the accumulation and distribution of property. The overall goals of estate planning are to grow and preserve wealth, to use wealth during the client?s lifetime, and to pass the appropriate amount of wealth to the designated recipients at the client's death. Content focuses on the titling of assets, strategies to transfer assets, components of estate planning documents such as wills and trusts, taxation issues, business transfer techniques, and special needs considerations. Case studies synthesize the critical thought skills to apply the principles of effective estate planning based on the client?s goals, risk tolerance and constraints.
