Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the operation and structure of the U.S. financial system. It gives students a broad understanding of the role of financial markets and institutions in the economy. Topics to be covered include determinants of interest rates, the structure of interest rates, bond valuation, the Federal Reserve System and its functions, and financial markets?money markets, bond markets, and equity markets, as well as financial institutions. Prerequisite: FINC 313
