Catalog description

This course integrates the theory and the practice of financial planning, applying many of the principles of corporate finance to household financial decisions. Core financial concepts such as the time value of money, financial statement analysis, and modern portfolio theory are essential elements of the successful practice of personal financial planning. Emphasis is placed on the development of the life cycle theory of planning and the importance of an investment policy statement as a guide to a long-term planning orientation.
