Catalog description

We all know something about the 1960s?Vietnam, hippies, the Summer of Love, Nixon. But the social, cultural, and political conflicts and developments of that decade are at the root of many of today?s controversies about how America is changing and whether those changes are for the better. In this class we will learn about the major events of the 1960s, see 1960s movies, read 1960s literature, and listen to 1960s music. By doing so, we will come to a greater understanding of what was happening in the 1960s, and how that influences American society today.
