Environmental Hydrogeology

Catalog description

This course will cover classic hydrology and the water cycle with a special focus on the flow of water in the subsurface and interactions with the surface. The water cycle in the atmosphere, surface, and subsurface will be discussed. Attention will be given to groundwater flow, chemical interactions in typical porous media, groundwater contamination and remediation, and hydrologic field techniques. Common applicable computer models will be used and there will be field trips to relevant sites.
