Catalog description
"This course is an introduction to the aims, methods, and materials of contemporary literary scholarship for students who have committed themselves to the study of literature at a professional level. It prepares graduate students to meet the expectations of their professors, the demands of graduate study, and the peculiar rigors of academic life. The major emphasis of this course will be on acquiring a working knowledge of scholarly tools and methods through projects and problems.
