This course is an introduction to crime and detective literature. The aims of the course are to demonstrate the great breadth of the genre, including police procedurals, cozies, hard-boiled detective fiction, locked-room mysteries, as well as its depth and its evolution, and to allow us to discuss in an informed and precise way the literature many of us have enjoyed informally.
