Catalog description

This variable-credit course provides structured support for Ed.D. candidates engaged in research and writing for the program?s Dissertation in Practice. Students receive guided support in data collection, data analysis, interpretation of findings, and preparation of dissertation chapters. Emphasis is placed on aligning analysis with the problem of practice, ensuring methodological rigor, and producing scholarly writing appropriate for a Dissertation in Practice. Students work closely with the course instructor and their dissertation chair to refine analysis, interpret findings, and prepare the dissertation for defense. The course may be taken for 3 or 6 credits, depending on the student?s stage of dissertation progress and program pathway. The variable credit structure allows flexibility for students whose research designs require extended data collection or analysis timelines and accommodates students completing the Superintendent Letter of Eligibility program alongside the doctorate.
