Catalog description

This foundational doctoral-level course is tailored for practitioners across various educational contexts to equip students with essential skills, tools, and knowledge for critical engagement with educational research literature. Through the exploration of current areas of concern within the field of education, students will delve into theoretical investigation via practical exercises and hands-on research activities. Emphasis will be placed on understanding academic writing principles. Additionally, the course will focus on cultivating a deeper understanding of research, ethics, and evidence, particularly in informing critical, justice-oriented research, educational practice, policy, and problem-solving. By course completion, students will be empowered to navigate scholarly discourse to broaden their understanding of the educational field.
