Catalog description

Human-computer interaction (HCI) is the study of how people use computing systems, and how such systems can be made useful and usable. Human factors is the study of human cognitive and physical abilities and the design of products and systems. In this course, students learn foundations of HCI and human factors and apply them in designing, evaluating, and refining ?real? projects (e.g., apps, games, websites, interfaces, digital experiences). Interaction designers continuously test their products with people and measure their effectiveness. Likewise, students in this course conduct usability testing, collect and analyze data, among other things, to help them improve their designs so they are useful, usable, and provide a worthwhile and engaging user experience (UX).
