Catalog description

The study of Digital ?New? Media presents some of the most captivating issues in contemporary culture. This course examines core precepts of digital media - its history, theory and methods and works of major contributors to the field. The course gives particular attention to digital media in the context of design. It explores what it means to design, what is design, types of design (e.g., visual, product, interaction and services), and major design processes. Students design projects that encompass all aspects of modern digital media including video, sound, print, illustration, motion graphics, photography, Web, and interactive media.
