Catalog description

Introduction to the planning, design, and operation of multimodal transportation systems with emphasis on sustainability, safety, accessibility, and mobility. Topics include transportation networks, traffic flow, geometric roadway design, traffic control, capacity analysis, parking, and transportation planning principles. Students apply engineering analysis and contemporary tools to evaluate transportation system performance and develop sustainable transportation solutions through laboratory exercises and design projects. Prerequisites: CIVE 200: Engineering Design, MATH 314: Differential Equations
