Catalog description

Statics is a one-semester undergraduate course which builds the foundation for structural and mechanical design. This is a lecture course focused on problem-solving which covers static equilibrium of particles, the study of force vector, force systems, equivalent force systems, equilibrium of a rigid body, distributed forces, equivalent systems of forces on structures, trusses, frames and machines, friction, centroids and moments of inertia.
