Catalog description

An introduction to modern biochemistry at the molecular level. The course includes discussion of the structure and function of proteins, the chemical mechanisms and regulation of enzyme catalysis, biomembrane structure and function, the structure and metabolism of carbohydrates, and the bioenergetics metabolism of ATP synthesis and utilization. Lecture, three hours. Prerequisite: CHEM 212.
