Community Engagement Practicum I

Catalog description

The Community Engagement Practicum I provides students with a structured, supervised community-based immersion in a non-profit organization, citizen action group, legislative office, or philanthropic entity. Through discussion and application of social change theories, students explore the tenants of community engagement. Students reflect critically on their emerging civic agency and the development of their civic identity. CETR 300 is appropriate for students enrolled in the Community-Engaged Scholars program. This Practicum requires one hour of class time and 7 hours of Community Engagement work per week.
