Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to academic writing at the Ph.D. level and to introduce students to the expectations for quality scholarship across the various writing tasks associated with doctoral study and beyond. The basic elements of APA style and format, and the accepted academic standards expected for professionals in counseling are reviewed. Various principles of rhetoric, logic, evidence-based argument construction, critical reading and critical thinking are introduced.
