Counselor Education and Supervision Internship I

Catalog description

In accordance with the requirements of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), students are required to complete 600 hours within the six credits of internship. Students must obtain a minimum of 100 hours, and a maximum of 400 hours in each of the three (3) core internship activities: counseling/consultation, supervision, and teaching. A minimum of 40% of the hours must involve direct service, and students meet the 40% ratio of direct services across the three components of doctoral internship (counseling, supervision, and teaching). Duquesne University provides mandatory malpractice insurance to students who are enrolled in fieldwork courses while that course is on-going.
