Catalog description
This seminar will be an advanced treatment of figures, themes, and problems in the philosophical, literary, and aesthetic traditions of existentialism, such as condemnation to freedom, anguish and abandonment, action and responsibility, and the self-constitution of meaning. Prior 200 or 300 level course experience studying existentialism as a philosophical movement or any of its major figures is recommended, but not required for enrollment. Seminar. Offered irregularly.
