Catalog description
This course covers various aspects of human genetics, with an emphasis on applications to forensic science. Topics include cytogenetics, Mendelian inheritance, population genetics, evolutionary genetics, and pattern of human diversity. The theory, rationale, and data interpretation will be emphasized more than technical aspects of laboratory procedures. This course is intended for fourth- or fifth-year students in the Forensic Science & Law program. Prerequisite is C or better in BIOL 212 (Cell & Molecular Biology).
