Environmental Biology

Catalog description

This three-credit course provides an overview of the human impact on other life on Earth. Basic biological principles are examined in the context of this interaction with the biosphere. Topics covered in the this course will include critical thinking about the environment; human population and the environment; ecosystems; biogeochemical cycling, climate change; biological diversity and ecological restoration; agricultural impacts; energy; and water. The course is appropriate for biology majors, environmental science management majors and nonscience majors with a strong science background.
