Catalog description

This course investigates the biological world at the level of biomolecules and cells. It also provides an introduction to the mechanisms of inheritance, how genes work, and the process of development - the progression from fertilized egg to adult. Information and concepts essential to understanding the biological sciences are integrated with the process and excitement of scientific discovery. BIOL 115 is not a prerequisite for BIOL 117 or BIOL 112. This course is restricted to Biology majors. Freshman course. Prerequisite: permission of instructor. Students must register concurrently for BIOL 115L and 115R.
