Catalog description
This course provides students with a foundation of the theory and practice associated with the design, implementation, progression, and supervision of prevention and rehabilitation programs including an introduction to therapeutic modalities used to treat patients in clinical practice. Students will explore an evidence-based approach to therapeutic modality usage and implementation into a treatment plan. Students will investigate and analyze indications, contraindications, and biophysics of agents that aid in the healing of athletic injuries and the reduction of pain utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities. Content of the is course will also include introduction to therapeutic and corrective exercises and functional training. Students will also gain an understanding of progression and sequencing necessary to execute a successful rehabilitation and conditioning program required to return a patient to full participation.
