Evidence Based Methods in Health Care

Catalog description

This course introduces athletic training students to the evidence-based practice process including its application to clinical education. Specific topics related to the infusion of evidence into the practice of health care through prevention, diagnosis, and treatment will be included. Emphasis will be placed on enhancing the understanding and practice of evidence-based, quality health care. An introduction to the Institute of Medicine Core Competencies and interprofessional education will also be covered. This course is targeted to students pursuing an athletic training degree or have an interest in evidence-driven health care.
