Catalog description
Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing many different fields— including social science. This course will introduce students to the techniques necessary to design, execute and analyze studies of human behavior using tools such as large language models, application programming interfaces, machine learning, and natural language processing. Students will also be introduced to cutting-edge debates in the field about the relationship between AI and bias, social media and misinformation, and how new technologies are revolutionizing health care and the economy. Students will complete weekly lab assignments on coding and complete an original research paper throughout the course of the semester.
