Human-AI Co-Evolution

Catalog description

This course surveys recent research from sociology, computer science, psychology, and related fields to investigate how artificial intelligence (AI) will shape the future of society and how society will shape AI. Scholars of human behavior urgently require deeper understanding of how computer scientists train AI systems. Computer scientists need more sophisticated theories of human behavior to advance AI's positive and equitable impact across communities. To ensure that AI and human interests co-evolve in a productive manner, this course explores advances in computing, new security guardrails, and which parts of society we want to reinforce or reform.
