Duke University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
The Mediterranean world transformed entirely in Late Antiquity: It saw mass migrations, the rise of new religions, and the disintegration and reorganization of vast empires. This lecture course explores the equally dramatic transformations in the visual cultures of the late antique world with a focus on the dynamic relationships among art, architecture, and socio-political change.
