PCLT - Basic Radiology Clerkship

Fourth Year Basic Radiology Clerkship for the Primary Care Leadership Track. This course is designated for PCLT students only. This course is not open to visiting medical students. RADIOL 429C is the same course as RADIOL 205C (the second year Radiology Clerkship) but was created for the students in the Primary Care Leadership Track as PCLT students must satisfy the Radiology requirement during the fourth year. The objectives of this course are to provide an overview of the various imaging modalities of diagnostic and interventional radiology and their clinical utility. The elective consists of: (a) a high-quality lecture series (b) small group work and hands on time with imaging, reviewing preselected teaching cases, (c) participation in multispecialty conferences and grand rounds, and (d) rotation time in various subspecialty areas in diagnostic and interventional radiology. Objectives include gaining empathy for patients undergoing imaging procedures, learning the indications/contraindications and utility of a large variety of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures, and learning basic imaging findings helpful for internship.
