Clinical Intro to Child Psychiatry

This one-week selective will be an opportunity to learn about the specialty of child and adolescent psychiatry. A series of clinical experiences with children and adolescents who are experiencing mental health concerns will be offered with the primary location on the inpatient child psychiatry consultation liaison (CL) service. Medical students will have opportunities learn from the team and to participate in comprehensive psychiatric assessments using a biopsychosocial approach. We frequently provide care to medically complex children with psychiatric comorbidities and also for children with primary psychiatric concerns. During the selective week, there will also be opportunities for multidisciplinary care conferences and sessions focusing on case discussions and topics in psychiatry.
