Catalog description

This course explores theoretical insights derived from Chinese institutions and strategic behavior. By analyzing historical and contemporary Chinese political, economic, and social institutions, the course examines how governance structures, strategic maneuvering, and institutional evolution shape political outcomes. Topics include taxation models, community-based economic institutions, crime control, conflict resolution, voting systems, land reforms, and military strategy. Through case studies and comparative analysis, students will assess how Chinese institutions challenge, refine, or complement mainstream political theories.
