Catalog description

This course is for all experience levels. The focus of the course will be to improve coordination, agility, and cardiovascular endurance; gain an understanding of game rules and etiquette, and develop the ability to participate confidently in both singles and doubles play. Topics include badminton rules, scoring systems, safety considerations, and basic officiating. Skill instruction focuses on grip techniques, serves, clears, drops, smashes, net shots, footwork patterns, and court positioning. Tactical concepts such as shot selection, game strategy, and doubles communication are also introduced through guided practice and match play. The class format will include warm-ups, skill demonstrations, structured drills, and supervised gameplay.
