This elective provides an opportunity for students to examine the strengths and weaknesses of a health system that emphasizes primary care and the integration of public health with primary care. The course consists of preparatory seminars designed to provide an overview of the Cuban public health and healthcare systems, a one-week experience in Cuba, and a reflective project upon return.
