Clinical Medicine I

Catalog description
This course explores the essentials of diagnosis and management of the most common clinical problems seen by primary care practitioners using an organ systems and life stages approach. Clinical information is presented in lectures, small group learning experiences, modules, and practicums. Students develop clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to inform preventative, emergent, chronic, and rehabilitative care of patients across the lifespan. This course is integrated sequentially within the PA curriculum as a co-requisite for Pharmacology and Therapeutics I (PHYASST 223) and Diagnostic Methods I (PHYASST 210). Credit: 5 10. Melcher.
