Pediatric Nephrology

Catalog description
Students actively participate in assigned patient care, and prepare didactic presentations as a part of instruction. Clinical work provides the students with exposure to clinical nephrology and basic renal physiology. The course will provide experience in diagnosis, interpretations of laboratory tests, natural history, and treatment of acute and chronic disorders of the kidney in children. The student will participate in the management of fluid and electrolyte disorders in infants and children. Consultative services are provided for inpatients and outpatients from general and subspecialty disciplines in pediatrics, intensive care units, and the transplant services.
