Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

This course includes all aspects of clinical and laboratory hematology (with a focus on sickle cell disorders) as well as the diagnostic evaluation, care, and treatment of patients with malignant diseases (childhood leukemia, lymphoma, osteosarcoma, neuroblastoma, Wilm's tumor). Emphasis will be placed on fundamental concepts of pediatric hematology/oncology. Students will spend their time in the pediatric hematology-oncology and pediatric neuro-oncology outpatient clinics evaluating new patients and seeing established patients. Students will be expected to attend divisional teaching conferences. Location: Hanes House, room 382; Box number 102382.
