Catalog description

This four week experience in clinical neurology teaches the principles and skills underlying the recognition and management of the neurologic diseases a general medical practitioner is most likely to encounter in practice. The clerkship is comprised of two, two-week rotations with one rotation centered in outpatient neurology, and the other in inpatient neurology. Student conferences will address major clinical issues in neurology, and patient-oriented problem sessions will address differential diagnosis of neurological symptoms, review pertinent neuroanatomy, diagnostic testing, test utilization, and management of emergent and routine neurologic problems.
