Catalog description

Small groups prepare interactive performances for Elementary students in KidzNotes of Durham and Duke Univ. String School; create musical and verbal scripts with active participation from audiences; musical and historical research in many musical genres; readings related to outreach and education. Students will teach basics of rhythm, notes, expression and movement; play side-by-side in some events. Students will alternate off-campus visits to Kidznotes during class; DUSS on Saturday as possible. The organizations share chamber music's ideals: valuing diversity, empowering self-expression and ideas, excellence, and collaboration in daily lives.
