Catalog description

he objective of the course is to introduce students to the interdisciplinary field of biomedical microsystems with an emphasis on biomedical microelectromechanical systems (bioMEMS) and microtechnologies. Topics include Scaling laws, Micropatterning of substrates and cells, Microfluidics, Molecular biology on a chip, Cell-based chips for biotechnology, BioMEMS for cell biology, Tissue microengineering, and Microfabricated implants and sensors. Open to graduate students; instructor consent required for undergraduate students to enroll.
