Social problems both reflect and generate social change; this course provides a comparative analysis of the major social problems that have propelled social and cultural dynamics across historical periods, nations, and social groups by gender, race/ethnicity, and social class. The course explores the origins and implications of deviant behavior, social conflict and inequality, human progress and social change. Because studying social problems often involves specialize research methods, this course also investigates issues such as the unique inductive and deductive processes and related analysis methods that have developed in this field. 001361
