Climate Change is one of the major challenges facing humanity in the 21st century. Climate Change has been described as a 'super wicked problem', which stems from the greenhouse gases emissions produced by virtually all human activities, has no simple solution and yet requires urgent and drastic action to be taken at the global level. In this course, we will examine the range of legal and policy responses to this 'wicked problem' which have been proposed by experts, as well as those which have been concretely applied at the international level and different jurisdictions, especially in the United States, the EU, and China, three major emitters of greenhouse gases. We will look at various studies put forward by academics and think tanks, informed newspaper articles, as well as policy documents and law. 001141
