Are political ideologies ingrained in our DNA? Why do neurological and physiological processes define our political preferences? Why do we get angry when discussing politics? Can we estimate the causal effect of cultures on individual political behavior? This course introduces you to advanced research topics in political psychology---a discipline that applies rigorous psychological and statistical methods to the analysis of political behavior. First, we will examine the genetic and environmental origins of political beliefs. Second, we will learn how our brain processes political information.
