Catalog description
This course provides an overview of advanced contemporary work on the political economy of development. This is a survey course designed to introduce students to the leading methods, theories, and evidence-based research relating to development. It first addresses the very concept of development, presents the metrics that are used to measure it, and introduces important development figures. It then introduces key models and theories that have been presented to explain development. Finally, it delves deeper into contemporary questions and debates about the drivers of development. 001132
